“Beauty and the Beastie” Earns P400 Million in Box Office Income


The official entry of Star Cinema to the MMFF, titled “Beauty and the Beastie,” has passed the P400 million mark in box office income according to the announcement released by Vice Ganda on Wednedsay.



The veteran box office comedian who was one of the main cast in the movie, Vice Ganda expressed his gratitude towards those who supported the film which also starred Coco Martin, James Reid and Nadine Lustre. The “It’s Showtime” host wrote: “400Million THANK YOUs mga Kapamilya!”


TV Patrol also revealed on a news report on Tuesday that the movie “Beauty and the Beasty” ranked as the top earning entry as of January 2, followed by the Kapuso movie “My Bebe Love,” featuring the AlDub tandem. Aside from the top two movies, also included in the official list of highest-grossing MMFF-entry movies were the “Haunted Mansion,” and “Walang Forever.”



Although the MMFF executive committee did not specify the exact figures of the box office income of the eight official MMMFF-entry movies, the producers of each movies released their respective figures online.


According to the MMFF, they did not specify the figures for each film to avoid influencing the decision of moviegoers. A report by Pep, also revealed that the movie “My Bebe Love” already earned P322 million as of January 2, 2016.
