20-year-old Grace Marr was shocked to be told by her friends and family that her pictures had been used on an X-rated, no strings attached website without her knowledge.
According to her, she was contacted by a family friend, who did not wish to be named, who told her he had spotted the sidebar advert while surfing the web last month. The three images, taken from her Facebook profile picture album, were used alongside a promotion advertising "hot horny singles in your local area".
"I got a phone call from my mom's friend who works at a computer company, and he said he saw my Facebook photos on a weird sidebar advert," Marr said. "He didn't get the name of the site but described it as a website that you don't really want to be associated with."
"It was a really creepy thing to do," she said. "Trawling the internet looking for a teenager’s pictures is just bizarre."
The second year Aston University English Language student said that she wants everyone to be aware of the event so that it doesn't happen in the future.
