Petite Policewoman Saves the Day by Stopping a Hold-Up Heist in a Bus! She fired her weapon hitting the suspect at his buttocks area

PO1 Judy Ann de Villa, 24, of the Navotas Police special patrol unit, shot and arrested the 39-year-old Juanito “Yoyoy’ Arsenio who robbed a female passenger seated across her on Tuesday night.

Recalling the incident with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, De Villa said she was on board a Cher Bus from C3 Terminal to Navotas and on her way home to Makati City at around 11:35 p.m. when Arsenio and two more suspects rode.

About five minutes after, the group declared a hold up and pulled a handbag from one of the female passengers.

Acting on call of duty, De Villa pointed a gun at the suspect and asked him to surrender. However, Arsenio tried to escape by jumping off the bus while pointing gun at her. Then, she chased him, along with the two other suspects.

De Villa fired her weapon hitting Arsenio at his buttocks area. He fell on the ground leading to his arrest. She recovered the .22-calibre revolver loaded with ammunition. The suspect was then brought to the Quezon Memorial Medical Hospital.

“I never thought they will declare holdup in the area,” said De Villa. “Wearing my uniform made me more eager in apprehending the suspect.”

Senior Superintendent Dante Novicio, the chief of Navotas Police, commended De Villa for her bravery.

Arsenio is currently in hospital and have undergone a surgery. He will be charged with robbery-holdup, attempted homicide and illegal possession of firearms.
