A first time tourist was detained by authorities for five days at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 for allegedly carrying a bullet.
Lane Michael White, 20, was travelling to Palawan along with his father and stepmother when they were stopped at the X-ray are of the Terminal 4. The guards repeatedly checked the bag on the X-Ray Machine. He said he was surprised that a .22 caliber bullet from the pocket of his luggage.
White denied that he owned the bullet.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, he said a male security personnel allegedly told him that the case will be settled for P30,000.00. He declined insisting that he is innocent.
White, who belonged to a missionary group, also hired his own lawyer to work on the case.
"God endured the pain when he was being whipped at the cross and if I need to be detained just to prove my innocence so be it," said White.
Office of the Transport Security (OTS) suspended the people involved in the incident while continuously investigating the incident.
