Mahal's Ex-boyfriend Jimboy Salazar Passes Away

Former member of That's Entertainment and singer Filio "Jimboy" Salazar passed away Friday, July 24, due a long bout with pneumonia.

According to PEP, at about 10:00 a.m. of July 24, Salazar, 42, was rushed to a hospital in San Miguel, Bulacan, after experiencing difficulty in breathing. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Salazar became controversial after he was involved in a 'romantic affair' with diminutive actress Mahal. Despite the many people who doubted the couple's relationship, Jimboy and Mahal appeared in many shows and TV programs professing their love for each other.

After the people around them started questioning Salazar's sexuality, he later admitted his homosexuality on national television and even to a point of changing his name into Jimgirl.

In May 2015, he again surfaced and this time, expressing his desire to marry his partner, John Danan. However, things didn't work out and they eventually parted ways.

In an interview with Startalk, Jimboy admitted that his health continues to deteriorate because of his previous abuse to his body.

"Bumigay yung katawan ko, kada-diet, trabaho, show, lagare… hanggang sa pinagpawisan na ako, stress, pressure," Jimboy said. "Then, bumigay na ang katawan ko, hanggang sa naramdaman ko na lang, after one month, pumapayat na ako."
