Action star Robin Padilla has pledged support for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte if ever he will run as president.
Padilla posted a picture showing Mr. Duterte along with two more supporters.
They are all wearing a shirt with slogan, “Duterte, Atin Tp ‘Pre!”. He captioned the photo with “and his words will soon be Flesh … Katipunan, the dream must now be realized… Let the Punisher begin.”
A representative from Duterte’s camp said Padilla and his group visited him and urged him for president on a platform against corruption, drugs, and criminality.
Duterte is one of the known Filipino politicians to impose iron fists in battling crimes and corruption. His way of running the government was dubbed as “brutal” by different sectors, but on a positive side. The Time Magazine has called him “The Punisher.”
Duterte brought things on a joke and noted that he rejected the offer of creating a movie because there will be so many leading ladies.
Duterte, whose marriage has been annulled, admitted that he had many girlfriends. He also admitted receiving offers to make a movie from his life.
He however declined because he is a private, noting that he doesn’t even hold a mobile phone. He also didn’t want his name written on government project as well as declining to receive award from institution recognizing him as an “outstanding mayor.”
