Miss Earth 2014 – Philippines Candidate Jamie Herrell Wins Title


Jamie Herrell of the Philippines has just won the Miss Earth 2014 crown during the grand coronation night on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the University of the Philippines (UP) Theatre in Diliman, Quezon City.



Herrell bested 86 other candidates from around the world. During the Miss Earth 2014 finals night, Jamie Herrell was so confident with her answer particularly in the Question and Answer portion of the beauty pageant. When asked what she would do about global warming if she wins the crown, the Cebuana answered, "Global warming has been known to be a long, overdue issue…I will use my title to inspire others, help our environment, and we start with the kids…the kids are the people of Tomorrow."


Aside from winning the title, she also bagged three special awards, namely: Miss Earth Hannah's Beach Resort, Best in Swimsuit, and Sun for Miss Earth Award.


Other winners were:


Andrea Neu (USA) - Miss Earth Air

Maira Alexandra Rodriguez (Venezuela) - Miss Earth Water

Anastasia Trusova (Russia) - Miss Earth Fire.


Also part of the Top 8 were Brazil, Mongolia, Slovak Republic and Spain.



The 20-year-old beauty from the Philippines is an acting student at the International Academy of Film and Television at the University of San Jose-Recolletos in Cebu City. She formerly won as Sinulog Festival Queen 2013 representing Placer, Masbate.
