Explosion Hits Army Support Command in Fort Bonifacio (Video)

On Wednesday, May 7, ABS-CBN News team was able to capture the explosion which hit the Explosives and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) headquarters of the Philippine Army in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

According to reports, the fire started at around 10:30 a.m in the office of the Army’s Explosive and Ordinance Disposal, Army Deputy Chief Capt. Anthony Bacus told reporters.


A powerful explosion rocked the area which injured 25 soldiers and civilians including seven fire volunteers who responded on the scene, they were rushed to various hospitals for treatment.

Bureau of Fire Protection declare fire under control as of 11:05 a.m., based on their initial investigation, TNT or Trinitrotoluene, a main chemical component of explosives, caused the fire.


The Philippine Army, has yet to determine the cause of fire and provide an initial estimate of the damage caused by the fire and massive explosions.
