Deniece Cornejo's mug shot surfaced online after she showed up and voluntarily surrender herself to the Philippine National Police (PNP), she has been charged for the serious illegal detention case in connection with the January 22 mauling of actor Vhong Navarro.
The 22-year-old Deniece Cornejo arrived at Camp Crame in Quezon City at around 4 p.m., according to PNP Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac. Accompanied by her relatives and lawyers, the model had a dialogue with PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima, in his office.
Deniece Cornejo was then turned over to the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Women and Children Protection Desk where she will undergo a procedure, preliminary to her being detained in a jail. However, Sindak said he still has no information as to where Deniece will be detained.
Deniece Cornejo’s co-accused Cedric Lee and Simeon Palma were arrested last April 26 at the Municipality of Oras in Eastern Samar and currently in custody of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). While other suspects Ferdinand Guerrero and Jed Fernandez remain at large.
