Deniece Cornejo showed up and voluntarily surrender herself to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima at 4 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, in Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Deniece Cornejo was evading a standing arrest warrant issued on April 11 by the Taguig court, for serious illegal detention, a non-bailable offense and grave coercion over the beating of actor Vhong Navarro.
According to Philippine National Police Chief of Public Information Superintendent Ruben Sindak, they were surprised by Deniece’s sudden appearance at their office, she was ccompanied by her relatives and lawyers, Cornejo proceeded to the office of PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Deniece Cornejo was then turned over to the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Women and Children Protection Desk where she will undergo a procedure, preliminary to her being detained in a jail. However, Sindak said he still has no information as to where Deniece will be detained.
Her other co-accused Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz were arrested on April 26, in a resort in Eastern Samar.
