Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, the mother of Megastar Sharon Cuneta passed away on Wednesday, October 5.
Known in showbiz circles as Mommy Elaine, her death was announced on Twitter by her granddaughter KC Concepcion.

For months, Elaine has had health struggles, with KC constantly posting photos of her visiting her ill grandmother.
Elaine is a former beauty queen, singer, and actress, starring in films such as "Bondying" in the '50s. She had two children, Chet and Sharon, with former Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta, whom she married in 1993 after years of living together. She is also the sister of actress Helen Gamboa-Sotto.
