Another pride of the Filipinos was hailed as the grand winner of the prestigious competition X factor Australia.
Pinay teenager Marlisa Punzalan emerged as the champion of the 6th season of "The X Factor Australia" beating rocker Dean Ray and boyband Brothers 3. She had been trending all over the social media network for her outstanding performances on the singing competition.
The 15-year-old Pinay performed 3 different songs for the finals of the competition.
The first song was the piece that lead her to the competition, "Yesterday" of the popular band The Beatles and her winner single "Stand By You" in her final bid for the title. She garnered standing ovation from all the judges for both performances with her mentor Ronan campaigning to the public to not let the 'good guys finish last' and let the 'authentic' Marlisa win.
This is the first time in five years that Ronan's protege win "The X Factor Australia." On the other hand, this is the second year that a non-Australian win the Australian version of the reality talent show. Last year's winner was Dami Im, a Korean born immigrant.
